Panning is something that I have had the chance to learn about this semester. Panning is a camera angle that allows a viewer to essentially see what a person would see when they are looking at one thing and then turns their head to look to the left or to the right or both.
This is a great example of a panning shot. What is it from? It looks like a contemporary to The 400 Blows! I like your description of panning above.

Me too, well before this class I do notice panning happening in movies but I just didn't know there was a term for it. This video does a great job of showing the viewer what panning is.
